Second Year Willow Valley Communities Earns Three Distinctions

Lancaster, PA – Willow Valley Communities, a premier 55-plus community in Lancaster, PA, again has been awarded “Best” designation in multiple categories by U.S. News & World Report in its third annual Best Senior Living ratings for 2024. Willow Valley Communities earned Best Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Best Independent Living, and Best Assisted Living Community. This is the second year Willow Valley Communities has earned all three important distinctions.

For 2024, U.S. News’ Best Senior Living ratings evaluated over 3,500 communities in the U.S. in one or more of the following categories: independent living, assisted living, memory care, and continuing care retirement. Senior living communities were evaluated on several criteria, including resident and family members’ satisfaction with safety, care, community management and staff, food and dining, value, and other services and amenities. U.S. News & World Report and its survey provider, Activated Insights, collected and analyzed survey data from nearly 400,000 residents and their family members at the senior living communities across the country.

Craig D. Thompson, president & chief operating officer of Willow Valley Living, the management company for Willow Valley Communities, said he is delighted by the “Best” ratings and gave credit to Willow Valley Communities’ Team Members for the top designations stating, “The ‘Best’ ratings are a testament to Willow Valley Communities’ 1,600 professional and committed Team Members who dedicate themselves every day to providing an extraordinary lifestyle and experience to our residents.”

Brian T. Rutter, chief marketing officer for Willow Valley Living, explained how the multiple “Best” ratings fit perfectly with Willow Valley Communities’ “Life Lived Forward” philosophy. “At Willow Valley Communities, we’re focused on rethinking retirement. Just as we do, Willow Valley Communities residents embrace the idea of not looking back at life before retirement, but instead, looking forward to the rich, passion-filled life that’s ahead.” He added, “This newest recognition combines with others to tell the unique story of how exceptional life at Willow Valley Communities is.” Willow Valley Communities has also been named the number 3 CCRC in the United States by Newsweek; plus, for the fifth year running, The Glen at Willow Valley is the number 1 nursing home in Pennsylvania, according to Newsweek.

Rutter added that Willow Valley Communities’ newest expansion, Mosaic, coming to the heart of Lancaster City, is another example of how Willow Valley Communities continues to meet the desires of today’s 55-plus residents. “Mosaic’s 20 stories will rise above Lancaster City to create a new pattern of distinctive city living for today’s modern senior, melding the small city vibrancy of Lancaster, also consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top place in the nation to retire, with Willow Valley Communities’ 40-year award-winning tradition of hospitality and a pursuit of excellence in senior living.”
