It’s the end of August and once again time for schools to re-open. In the spirit of giving back to our community, Willow Valley Communities is helping to ensure that each child will have what they need in the way of footwear.
This is the 7th year that our Willow Valley Communities Outreach Committee, a joint resident and team member initiative, focused on Lancaster County’s children in need and collected donations of sneakers. 578 pairs of sneakers & socks were delivered to the School District of Lancaster’s Carter and MacRae Elementary School for the upcoming school year benefiting children in need throughout Lancaster through Families in Transition.
On one very hot day summer day, Willow Valley Communities Residents and School District of Lancaster employees & children helped unload countless boxes of shoes and socks to be sorted and organized by size before the school year begins.
Additionally, Residents Sue and Joe McDonald delivered over 70 pairs of shoes and socks from Willow Valley Residents to Milagro House, Mom’s House of Lancaster, and the Domestic Violence Shelter in Lancaster.
As in the past, we partnered with Shoe Carnival of Lancaster to make this amazing project possible. Special thanks go to our Willow Valley Communities Outreach Committee for organizing a wonderful way to give back to our local community.
