Everyone is invited to attend the 3rd annual Toni Finn Dementia Symposium on October 13th in the Cultural Center at Willow Valley Communities from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Nationally recognized speaker, Leah Klusch will be presenting a lecture on custom caregiving environments (making the environment comfortable and homelike) and skills/interventions for caregivers working with the memory care process. Dr. Edward Purzycki from the Lancaster General Hospital’s Memory Care Clinic will speak on neurocognitive testing. Candy Yingling from the Alzheimer’s Association will be explaining “habilitation.” (A term used to describe maintaining the highest level of function as long as possible.) Lunch will also be provided.
The Symposium is in memory of Toni Finn. Toni Finn was a vibrant wife, mother and grandmother stricken with Alzheimer’s disease in her mid-seventies. Her children and husband, Michael, were so impressed with the care she received at Cedar Brook that they wanted to do something that would benefit all the Team Members who took such wonderful care of her. The Symposium is the result of their generosity.
If you are interested in attending or have questions you may contact Jolene Hulson at 940-4828 or Email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Symposium Brochures will be available at the Concierge Desks in each of our communities. Cost is $80.00. Please complete the registration form with a check or money order made payable to Willow Valley Communities and return to Jolene Hulson at the Glen first floor reception desk.
Please RSVP by October 3rd.
