Have you ever wondered what a Caramel Macchiato is ?
The macchiato (mah-key-AH-toe) is a cornerstone of Italian coffee culture, along with the espresso and cappuccino, among other coffee drinks. It’s made with espresso. The name macchiato means “marked.” Quoted from “What a Macchiato Realy Is” HuffPost Taste.
Here’s our recipe, direct from the new Coffee Lounge in our North Community.
1 ½ oz of vanilla syrup on the bottom of mug.
Steam 1 cup of milk to 160⁰, pour over vanilla syrup.
Hold back froth to ¾ of a cup and force ½ of the foam top.
Pour 2 shots of espresso over frothed milk.
Cross hatch caramel sauce over top to finish.
